Glass flats. Automatic separating glass flats that accept either a standard 105mm x 148mm microfiche for a single fiche or two standard 105mm x 148mm microfiche will be supplied, as specified.
Indexing. Readers shall have a separate indexing system for 1:24 source document and COM fiche, 1:42 COM fiche, and 1:48 COM fiche as applicable.
Warning. Conspicuous warning signs shall be placed on or adjacent to areas or parts that may be of high voltage or other hazardous conditions.
Instruction. An instruction manual or card shall be furnished.
Accessories. A cleaning kit and appropriate dust cover shall be furnished with each unit.
Workmanship. The machine, including all parts and accessories shall be fabricated and finished in accordance with good workmanship standards and the machine shall be free from any defect which affects the appearance, durability or serviceability or which might cause personal injury.
Conformance. Shall provide acceptable proof of conformance with the requirements of the applicable safety standard(s) for the product by an organization approved by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) as a “Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory” (NRTL). Acceptable proof of conformance includes a labeling, listing or certification of the product by an NRTL.
Quality Assurance Provisions
Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the performance of all inspection and test requirements specified herein. Failure to meet all provisions of the requirements specified herein. Failure to meet all provisions of the requirements as specified shall provide reason for rejection.
Metric products. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal with those manufactured using inch-pound units, provided they fall within specified tolerances using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of FED-STD-376, and all other requirements of this Commercial Description are met.
If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch-pound units, a request shall be made to the contracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable.
The contracting officer has the option accepting or rejecting the product.
