The General Services Administration has authorized
the use of this commercial item description.
This commercial item description covers desk top or console type reader/printers that will accommodate microfiche formats of 1:24 source document and COM format, and 1:42 and 1:48 COM format. They shall be of the following types, classes, groups and styles, as specified.
Type I - Electrostatic Printing
Class 1- Wet process with photoconductor coated paper and liquid toner.
Class 2- Dry process with plain paper and dry toner.
Class 3- Dry process with photoconductor coated paper and dry toner.
Style A - Single lens holder with 24x lens.
Style B - Single lens holder with 32x lens.
Style C - Single lens holder with 36x lens.
Style D - Dual lens holder with 24X and 32x lenses.
Style E - Dual lens holder with 24X and 36X lenses.
Style F - Dual lens holder with 24X and 42X lenses.
Style G - Dual lens holder with 24x and 48X lenses.
Style H - Single lens holder with 32x lens and an extra 24X interchangeable lens.
Style J - Single lens holder with 36x lens and an extra 24x interchangeable lens.
Salient characteristics.
General. Shall be designed specifically for desk top or console type use.
Unacceptable features. Portable readers characterized by features such as light weight, handles for transporting, battery operation, collapsible design, integral or separate carrying case, etc.
