Hopper. Hopper for sheet-fed units shall hold at least 100 sheets.
Paper handling. The unit shall be equipped to automatically move the paper from the print storage area through processing and deliver a finished print to the operator.
Exposure control. An exposure control with several settings shall be provided to produce optimum quality prints.
Blowback. The complete image of the print shall be a blowback of at least 69% of the 1:42, 67% of the 1:48 and 91% of the 1:24 microimages, respectively, as applicable.
Light shield. Front screen readers shall have light-absorbing black on all non-optical surfaces surrounding the screen. Rear screen shall have a fixed or detachable ambient light shield.
Glass flats. Automatic separating glass flats that accept either a standard 105mm x 148mm microfiche for a single fiche or two standard 105mm x 148mm microfiches will be supplied, as specified.
Indexing. Readers shall have a separate indexing system for
1:24 source document and COM fiche, fiche as applicable. 1:42 COM fiche, and 1:48 COM
Screen image. The screen shall indicate clearly the portion of the image that will be printed. Print image. The print image shall be right reading and be positive (black image on white background) from negative fiche input of 4 to 9 m.ils thick.
Exposed print. The exposed and processed print shall be a reproduction of the image projected on the viewing surface. All data so projected must be legible and readable on the print. Image rotation shall be provided as necessary to meet this requirement.
Bi-modal feature. When specified, the printer shall be equipped with a hi-modal feature which will produce a positive print (black image on white background) from both a negative fiche input and a positive fiche input using a push-button or switch selection and appropriate toner or hi-modal kit or cartridge.
Masking. When specified, a masking feature or partial print feature shall be supplied. This will enable user to control the print area for print border removal or for a partial print size, consisting of many lines to as few as two lines.
Print preparation. Prints shall be prepared by a wet or dry process which may be electrostatic or thermal, as specified. Any
